Meet Our Founders
Anika Tabassum Orchi
Founder & CEO
Anika Tabassum is the Founder and CEO of Uro Bangladesh. She is a recent graduate from United International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since childhood, she has been involved in computer programming, software, and game development, and the field of modern information technology. After starting her Bachelor's in Computer Science & Engineering at UIU, she became fascinated with working in the field of Computational Hardware, especially IoT, Robotics, and Autonomous Hardware Systems. In 2022, she joined the UIU CanSat Team and became their primary Software Developer. She developed the software for both the Nano Satellite and the Ground Control System (GCS). In 2024, her valuable contribution to the 2024 UIU CanSat Team, UIU ASTRO, led to their success on the global platform of the International CanSat Competition as the first Bangladeshi team. In 2025, she founded the UIU Advanced Underwater Robotics and Automation Crew and created UIU MARINER, the first Bangladeshi team to qualify for the world championship of the 2025 MATE ROV Competition. Under her leadership, UIU MARINER not only participated in the World Championship in Alpena, Michigan, United States, but also became the Technical Documentation World Champion and ranked 5th overall globally. She then went on to found Uro Bangladesh, a pioneer in Robotics, AIoT, Automation, and Engineering. She also has many other achievements from competitions like the NASA Space App Challenge, National ICT Olympiad, STEM Olympiad, etc.
Md. Darain Khan
Founder & CTO
Md Darain Khan is the Founder and CTO of URO Bangladesh. He has been a part of our journey from the very beginning. He is a student of United International University and the former Vice President of UIU App Forum. He was responsible for the Mechanical Designer and Engineer and Manufacturing in UIU ASTRO, the 2024 UIU CanSat Team. He was also one of the most crucial members of UIU Mariner, taking on the role of Software & Automation Lead, as well as being the Main Pilot for the ROV. Later, he founded Uro Bangladesh with CEO Anika Tabassum. He has interest and experience with Software Development and Automation, CAD Design, 3D Modeling and Simulation, Graphic Design, Mechanical Design and Manufacturing. He is also very much invested in piloting remote-controlled vehicles such as ROV, UAV, and FPV drones.
